Topic: THE SPHYNX ON MARS
This is one of the most clear cases of human identification of a natural landscape. Also on Earth we see human profiles on mountains, among clouds ... 25-07-1976. The NASA orbiter Viking took a photo of Cydonia Region on Mars. In the image it's possible to see a big stone face. A SPHYNX on Mars???? First we need to consider the instruments of the orbiter and overall the resolution of its cameras. Second the Viking hadn't the purpose to make a mat at high resolution of Mars surface. Anyway Global Surveyor took an other photo of the same region 20 years later, but at a very high definition: the Sphynx was only a strange hill.

Yes Dalan. But the most astonishing thing is that near Cydonia there is a geological region which is extremly interesting: the possible coast of an ancient ocean on Mars. So it's quite strange that so many people has focused their attention on a rocky hill, ignoring an entire fossile ocean ....
